ESSENTIAL DO’S AND DON’TS OF WRINKLES

   DO’s

  • DO WEAR SUNSCREEN RELIGIOUSLY. Sunscreen is paramount in order to protect yourself from developing premature wrinkles and it is also your first important line of defense. Always use a good quality broad spectrum sunscreen. Also remember to reapply the sunscreen every 2-3 hours. 
  • DO LIMIT THE TIME YOU SPEND UNDER DIRECT SUN. Also wear protective clothing because most of the lightening formulations make your skin overly photo/sun-sensitive.
  • DO ALWAYS PICK YOUR MOISTURIZER OR OTHER SKINCARE PRODUCTS WISELY. GO IN FOR A MOISTURIZER CONTAINING GOOD MOISTURIZING FACTORS, HYLURONATES, CERAMIDES, PEPTIDES and ANTIOXIDANTS Choose gentle skin care products. 
  • DO ALWAYS FOLLOW A REGULAR REGIME OR CARDINAL RULE OF SKINCARE. No matter what, always wash off the day’s makeup, oil and bacteria. Always apply a rejuvenating cream/ moisturizer/ serum enriched with antioxidants, before hitting the bed at night. Pamper your skin with regular face masks. 
  • DO ALWAYS INVEST IN/ USE SKINCARE PRODUCTS THAT CATER TO YOUR UNIQUE SKIN TYPE, SKIN NEEDS AND ARE DEVOID OF TOXIC INGREDIENTS.
  • DO ALWAYS PROTECT YOUR SKIN FROM EXCESSIVE POLLUTION (Cover your face while driving in cities).
  • DO ALWAYS TRY TO GET ENOUGH QUALITY SLEEP. While we are sleeping, our bodies produce HGH (human growth hormone). This hormone is what induces growth and cell turnover (including skin cells).
  • DO ALWAYS TRY TO SLEEP ON YOUR BACK.
  • DO ALWAYS TRY TO INCORPORATE UNWINDING and STRESS RELIVING ACTIVITIES IN YOUR SCHEDULE eg yoga, meditation, exercise, walk, trips,  movies, spending time with family etc.
  • DO INCORPORATE LOTS OF ANTIOXIDANTS & ESSENTIAL FATTY ACIDS IN YOUR DIET.
  • DO ALWAYS CONSULT A PROFESSIONAL EXPERT/ DERMATOLOGIST FOR ANY TREATMENT REGARDING ELIMINATING WRINKLES OR FINE LINES.

 

 

 

DON’Ts

  • DON’T RUB YOUR FACE. Your skin needs a gentle touch so blot/ pat your face dry using a soft towel.
  • DON’T WASH OR EXFOLIATE YOUR SKIN TOO OFTEN. 
  • DON’T UNDERTAKE EXCESSIVE STEAMING FOR YOUR FACE. AVOID HANGING OUT IN A SAUNA.
  • DON’T SQUINT YOUR EYES. Squinting tremendously increases your chances of developing crow’s feet. If you are doing so because of sunlight wear sunglasses or if you have eyesight issue wear glasses/ contacts.
  • DON’T STRETCH YOUR SKIN TOO MUCH DURING THREADING, WAXING OR ANY OTHER PROCEDURE.
  • DON’T UNDERTAKE OVERZEALOUS MASSAGING.
  • DON’T GET LURED BY CLAIMS OF ANTI-AGEING FACE WASHES. That’s because for any product to act it is essential it stays on your skin for some time, whereas, in the case of face washes basically the so called helpful ingredients are washed down the drain.
  • DON’T SIT IN FRONT OF THE COMPUTER FOR LONG PERIODS WITHOUT APPLYING A BROAD SPECTRUM SUNSCREEN; AS THE UV RAYS COMING OUT OF THE COMPUTER/LAPTOP MONITOR CAN TRIGGER DEVELOPMENT OF WRINKLES. 
    DON’T FORGET TO CONSUME AROUND 2 LTS WATER DAILY
  • DON’T UNDERTAKE SMOKING FOR IT IS ONE OF THE PRIME CAUSES OF PREMATURE AGEING.
  • DON’T USE TOO MANY SKINCARE PRODUCTS. KEEP YOUR SKINCARE REGIME SPECIFIC YET SIMPLE.
  • DON’T USE EXPIRED OR VERY OLD SKINCARE PRODUCTS.
