HEALTHY HAIR

 

   DO’s

  • DO TRY TO KEEP YOUR HAIR AND SCALP CLEAN.
  • DO USE ONLY LUKEWARM WATER FOR WASHING HAIR.
  • DO DE-TANGLE YOUR HAIR BEFORE WASHING.
  • DO ALLOW THE HAIRS TO GET WET/ SOAKED IN WATER PROPERLY BEFORE SHAMPOOING YOUR HAIR.
  • DO REMEMBER TO MIX THE SHAMPOO WITH WATER IN YOUR PALM AND THEN GENTLY MASSAGE IN YOUR HAIRS.
  • DO ALWAYS START MASSAGING THE SHAMPOO FROM THE HAIR LINE AND THEN MOVE TOWARDS THE NAPE. (This will help create proper lather and also improve blood circulation of the scalp.)
  • DO SQUEEZE OUT EXCESS WATER FROM THE HAIR BEFORE APPLYING CONDITIONER.
  • DO APPLY MORE CONDITIONER ON THE HAIR SHAFT/ ENDS AND MINIMAL ON THE ROOTS/ SCALP. ALLOW THE CONDITION TO SIT FOR 2-5 MINS ON YOUR HAIR BEFORE FINALLY RINSING OFF.
  • DO INVEST IN/ USE HAIR CARE PRODUCTS THAT CATER TO YOUR UNIQUE CONCERNS. Always use only those hair care products that do not contain toxic/harmful ingredients in them and are safe for long term use.
  • DO USE A COTTON OR MICROFIBRE TOWEL TO DRY YOUR HAIR AND PREFERABLY AIR-DRY YOUR HAIR.
  • DO COMB YOUR HAIR STARTING WITH LOWER ENDS FIRST TO REMOVE TANGLES AND THEN BRUSH GENTLY FROM ROOTS TO THE ENDS.
  • DO CONSUME A BALENCED DIET. (For healthy hair eat more of Almonds, Walnuts, Fish liver oil, Salmon, Eggs, Citrus fruits, Spinach, pumpkin and Lentils.)
  • DO CONSULT A DERMATOLOGIST; WITHOUT ANY DELAY; IF YOU HAVE ANY HAIR PROBLEM/ ISSUES.

 

DON’Ts

  • DON’T GIVE MORE THAN A WEEK’S GAP BETWEEN HAIR WASHES.
  • DON’T RUB YOUR HAIR HARSHLY WHILE WASHING.
  • DON’T FORGET TO RINSE OUT THE SHAMPOO COMPLETELY FROM YOUR HAIR.
  • DON’T RUB YOUR WET HAIR VIGOROUSLY WITH A TOWEL INSTEAD JUST BLOT IT DRY OR WRAP THEM IN A TOWEL.
  • DON’T USE A CONDITIONER CONTAINING EXCESSIVE ALCOHOL; AS THIS CAN OVER DRY YOUR SCALP AND MAKE YOUR HAIR FRIZZY.
  • DON’T FORGET TO OIL YOUR HAIR ONCE A WEEK. (Always wrap your hair in a hot towel for 10-15 minutes after massaging it with oil.)
  • DON’T FORGET TO APPLY A NATURAL HAIR CONDITIONING MASK ONCE A MONTH. (The mask can be of coconut milk, egg, curd etc)
  • DON’T COMB OR BRUSH WET HAIR.
  • DON’T LET THE HAIR DRYER TOUCH YOUR HAIR. KEEP THE HAIR DRYER AT A DISTANCE OF 1-2 INCHES FROM YOUR HAIR. (Preferably as far as possible avoid using hair dryers.)
  • DON’T OVER HEAT YOUR HAIR WHILE STYLING WITH A STRAIGHTENING/ FLAT IRON. (Always begin with the lowest heat setting of the flat iron and then gradually increase the heat if required.)
  • DON’T APPLY STYLE SETTING PRODUCTS SUCH AS MOUSSE/ GEL TOO CLOSE TO YOUR SCALP. (Read the labels of styling products and avoid the ones which are loaded with alcohols.)
  • DON’T STICK TO THE SAME HAIRSTYLE FOR YEARS.
  • DON’T FORGET TO CLEAN YOUR BRUSHES AND COMBS REGULARLY. (Soak them in soapy water once in 10 days and then fully dry them in sun before using.)
  • DON’T FORGET TO WRAP/ COVER YOUR HAIRS IN EXTREME WINTER AND WINDY WEATHER.
  • DON’T FORGET TO RINSE YOUR HAIR AFTER SWIMMING.
  • DON’T SCRATCH YOUR SCALP WITH YOUR FINGERNAILS. (Consult a Dermatologist if you are suffering from an itchy scalp.)
