LIMIT THE USAGE OF UV LAMPS DURING A NAIL ART PROCEDURE

If you regularly go to the nail salon for a nail art procedure and dry your nails under UV lamps, you may be putting yourself at risk to develop skin cancer. A latest study has found varying levels of UV emission from these lamps and hence the researchers concluded that regular use of these lamps — 8-14 visits over 12-24 months — can reach the threshold of DNA damage to the skin leading to cancer. Therefore try to limit the usage of these lamps as far as possible or at least ask the nail technician to use a sunscreen/ moisturising lotion with SPF instead of the regular lotion the salon usually applies. This way, you’ll be protecting yourself against harmful rays.
