SKINCARE DO’s & DON’Ts FOR SUMMERS

DO’s

  • DO WASH YOUR HANDS THROUGHLY BEFORE WASHING THE FACE.
  • DO ALWAYS TRY TO TAKE A SHOWER ONCE IN THE MORNING AND ONCE IN THE EVENING. (Excess perspiration during the day can accumulate bacteria on your skin folds.)
  • DO ALWAYS WASH YOUR FACE 2-3 TIMES A DAY IF YOU ARE PRONE TO ACNE. (Heat triggers perspiration and oil production leading to acne flare ups.)
  • DO ALWAYS REMEMBER TO EXFOLIATE 1-2 TIMES A WEEK.
  • DO ALWAYS MOISTURISE YOUR SKIN. OPT FOR A LIGHT, WATER BASED AND NON- COMEDOGENIC MOISTURISER (Summer sun – in combination with the heat, humidity, and air conditioning – will wreak havoc on your skin.) IN FACT YOU CAN STORE YOUR MOISTURISER IN THE REFRIGERATOR TO GIVE A COOLING EFFECT TO YOUR SKIN.
  • DO ALWAYS APPLY GENEROUS AMOUNT OF SUNSCREEN RELIGIOUSLY EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO BRIEFLY STEP OUT OF THE HOUSE (Choose SPF levels according to your sun exposure). ALSO RE-APPLY THE SUNSCREEN EVERY 3-4 HRS. (You should opt for sweat resistant/ powder touch sunscreens.)
  • DO ALWAYS KEEP YOUR BODY HYDRATED WITH WATER AND FLUIDS. (As excess heat leads to a loss of salts and water from the body. This loss of electrolytes should be suitably compensated. Having lots of nimbu pani is the best and cheapest option for everyone.)
  • DO ALWAYS USE SKINCARE PRODUCTS THAT CATER TO YOUR SPECIFIC SKIN TYPE/ NEEDS. (Also only choose those skincare products which do not contain toxic/ harmful ingredients in them and are safe for use on human skin.)
